Before Shave

When waking this morning and viewing the image staring back a thought ‘it’s time for a shave’ came to mind for some reason. While wondering whether a shave was necessary for Saturday… found self considering what’s the ideal shaving process or how would a man or woman experience the perfect shave?

So condensing the process below you’ll find four simple steps to follow in your journey to achieving the perfect shave.

  1. One should always shave after a warm shower. Without this initial step shaving may be likened to grabbing sandpaper with a grit designation of ‘p12′ and rubbing away (not recommended, seriously). Note; people with beards should run a set of shears or clippers across across any elongated follicles before step one.

  2. Now massage shaving product onto moistened skin. Personally prefer the shave stick (dipenser packs tend to expel unecessary volumes of product and we do not want our children recognising us at Christmas) besides only the thin layer close to the skin is performing the duty of softening the stubble prior to the actual shaving. That said best to leave lather for half a minute then…

  3. Grab your razor (I prefer the 3 blade as 4 blade tends to clog between rinses) and shave with the grain to avoid ingrown hairs and the like. People have own preferences of where to begin. Personally find beginning with the simple spots i.e. sideburns working downward to the chin works splendidly.

  4. Rinse face with cool water (this helps close pores) and apply aftershave balm of choice remembering to steer clear of alcohol based aftershaves for they tend to dry skin.

Yeah, I agree, it should be done right after showering so the steam of the water will open the pores for best shaving results.

I suggest Matte For Men’s antioxidant shaving gel. Its clear gel lets you see where to shave and it leaves you with a clean and smooth finish.
