Google page rank update September 2007?
Hey all… it appears the page rank update which is long overdue is in progress? Well at least for the Asia-Pacific region which encapsulates Australia. The latest iwebtool query had the google toolbar portion as down along with several others which NEVER happens. I think we will all be ranked or de-ranked very soon so to all I bid good luck with the new ranfandangled google algorithmic dance as from personal understanding no-one seems to know for certain how this google song will end.
You’d think by now someone would have leaked insider information on google tactics considering the fact that someone has to know somebody working in google (for goodness sake there had to be a leak during a drunken escapade from google staff?) I normally would not concern myself with such a trivial matter however after reading some of the blogs around it appears that everyone is waiting for an update which at present has apparently been the longest one ever recorded so let’s hope it’s not an iwebtool problem and is finally the real deal (as apparently the check proposes a rank of 4 for self and considering the number 4 is not lucky in Chinese I’m not certain whether it is a positive or negative) would like to add a who really cares remark here although it appears that despite the play down of the effect of the little green bar it maintains a level of significance in the webbing world. So many seem to be spending hours creating the volumes of links required to have that green bar edge a little further to the right. There was a time I used to discount the effect of page rank until the average page rank of Music’s Place had on key word searches?… so no matter what people say the effect of page rank remains a considerable factor in search engine placement.
Anyway I probably need to prepare the financial speech for our Hong Kong division tomorrow…

Cool, Good news I am waiting for this.. This will my site first update. I have to wait and see what rank I will get.
There is no indication of any update currently in the UK. There does seem to be indications in the marketplace that the whole area of PR is being refined and perhaps Google is moving closer to a Trust rank algorythm, ranking pages based on quality of links, content, age and relevance rather than the page voting system. This may well be a reason behind the delay and it will be interesting to see whether there are going to be any significant changes this time round.

Appreciate your comment. It appears that it was a false alarm and find myself in agreeing with your statement. Would like to add that there should be some weight on page aesthetics when google performs their checks (probably not feasible considering the volume of pages out there).
You have a fantastic looking website (nice flash play and colour choice) and I bid you good luck in the next update… If it ever arrives?
I think the delay could be caused by their working to implement an efficient algorythm in order to stop the links process done on the purpose of getting a higher page rank.

We’ll hold our breath then. As a complete novice I find the subject fascinating but as I’m waiting to see if my efforts have helped move my site beyond my current PR 0 its frustrating!
I don’t advise holding breath especially considering the time google is taking with this update

I have been waiting for this update although not holding my breath. It would be nice to get some green bar on my new blog that I spend so much time writing in! Go figure I would launch my site during the longest time between updates!

Having stayed away from text link advertising for my site, I’m hoping this may pay off with the next update. I’ve seen a dramatic drop in indexed pages the last few days. Grasping at straws, maybe this is a sign of changes to come.
Hi guys, today 16. Septembre I have noticed change in the number of backlinks. It started. I reckon in the next 5 days the green bars will change also.
I’m a great fan of google, but I have to say that they are holding the whole internet community hostage. Why can this great company be a little more ethical and provide page rank updates consistantly and fairly.

snowgirl – how did you get so many links!!!!! In a month? I’m hoping for a rank soon and we don’t have that many links. Is there a correlation between the amount of links and the PR? Don’t links have to be valuable?

I think snowgirl is helped by having such an awesome domain name for seo is definitely an area of avid interest to people trekking the web along with the fact that the site seems to be a very informative forum based operation tending to attract people to have a meander.
It looks as if Backlinks are being updated again possibly, all backlink tools I have used so far with the exception of webmaster tools are showing 0 backlinks for my site.
